China Mobile released the 2013 sustainable development report: tariffs fell 80% compared with ten ye

On May 30, China Mobile released its 2013 sustainable development report in Beijing, this is the eighth consecutive year that the company released its sustainable development report. The chairman of China Mobile, Xi Guohua said, 2014 would be a crucial year for the development of 4G technology, "China Mobile will embrace the times full of changes and challenges with strategic transformation and innovation, and take the responsibility with a sincere heart ."

As the report shows, China Mobile’s 3G network coverage increased 95.43% to 97.82% in 2013; the operator completed the 4G pilot successfully and has lanched 4G services in 16 cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and so on. China Mobile’s tariffs fell more than 80% in average during the last ten years .

Mr. Xi admitted that the development of mobile internet brought great challenge to the traditional communication services, the development of SMS,MMS, voice business stuck in bottlenecks and the performance even declined, while the accelerated 4G network construction and a series of future-oriented resources reservation have led to the net profit year-on-year decline in the third quarter of 2013 for the first time. "The trend of technology development and industrial changes cannot be avoided, and embrace the times full of changes and challenges with strategic transformation and innovation would be the voluntary choice of China Mobile".
