Zhongguancun Software Park Development Co, Ltd is specialized in high tech park development and operation. Its establishment was granted by Beijing Municipal government. Its three shareholder companies are Beijing Technology Park Construction Group, Beijing Capital Steel, and Beijing Haidian Technology Park. Zhongguancun Software Park Development Co, Ltd was founded on August 7th, 2000 with initial capital of 500 million RMB ($62.5 million USD). Its mission was to act on behalf of the government to conduct land development and urban facility construction in ZPark. ZPark attracts well established domestic and international software companies to setup operations in its campus. Additionally, ZPark offers free “one stop service” consultation for resident companies on investment, facility construction, and operations. ZPark also offers a list of preferred service providers on company registration, tax filing and custom procedures. In order to build a world class software park, ZPark has adopted a two stage development model. In the first stage, ZPark develops the land, urban infrastructure, public facilities, and incubation services. In the second stage, ZPark gets on the capital market and invites investors to build office real estate projects on its land.

ZPark was in 2001 and 2004 respectively granted “National Software Industry Base” and “National Software Export Base” by China’s National Development and Reform Bureau, China’s Ministry of Information Industry, and China’s Bureau of Commerce. ZPark already has over 180 resident companies with nearly 15,000 professionals,such as IBM、Oracle and Hanwang and so on. 2007, companies in ZPark had combined revenue of 15 billion RMB ($1.5 billion USD), 1800 registered intellectual property. Four of those intellectual properties won the first prize of National Technology Advanced Awards. ZPark has two phase construction zones. Together, they cover a total are of 292 hectares (721 acres). Besides low plot ratio, Phase I also has close to 60% green coverage, which makes ZPark an ideal research location with environmental friendly working environment.

Future Outlooks

ZPark is completing its first phase construction and business development. ZPark second phase development is to the west side of the current ZPark. The second phase construction will take up 153 hectares (378 acres). The land is shaped as a near perfect square. It will be used to construct research buildings, accommodation facilitates, and public utility facilities. The second phase is a continuous phase. The second phase will continue to be a well balanced, energetic, fully functional, highly developed, China-best-world-class Software Park with beautiful environment. ZPark will always carry its mission to bring harmony between society and nature, and synchronize its development pace with global economy.
